Dubai Launches Smart Card with Free Services for Tourists of Determination

Dubai has introduced the world’s first digital smart card for tourists of determination, offering exclusive benefits and services to ensure an accessible and inclusive experience for all visitors.

The Sanad Tourist Card, launched by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, mirrors the services provided to local residents with the Sanad Card. This initiative is a part of Dubai’s commitment to being a top destination for all, ensuring that tourists of determination can enjoy the same benefits available to those living in the city.

Maitha Mohammed Al Shamsi, CEO of the Community Empowerment Sector at CDA, highlighted the significance of the new card, which will be available digitally to tourists within 24 hours of their arrival. “This digital card provides access to a range of services, including free public transport and discounted entry to major attractions,” she explained during the Arabian Travel Market.

Exclusive Perks for Tourists of Determination

The Sanad Tourist Card offers a variety of privileges, including:

  • Free access to public transportation, including the Dubai Metro, buses, and ferries.
  • Discounts at popular tourist attractions such as Dubai Parks, Dubai Frame, and more.
  • Special parking permits for easier access to key locations.
  • 50% off taxi fares across the city.
  • Exclusive deals at malls, restaurants, pharmacies, and telecom providers.

In a step towards inclusivity, the card also ensures that tourists of determination have equal opportunities to enjoy Dubai’s offerings, further establishing the city as a global leader in accessibility.

A Step Toward Greater Inclusion

The launch of the Sanad Tourist Card comes after a detailed study conducted by the CDA in collaboration with the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, which surveyed over 65,000 tourists. The results of this study revealed a need for improved services for tourists of determination, guiding the development of this groundbreaking initiative.

“This card marks the first step in our ongoing efforts to make Dubai the most inclusive and accessible destination for everyone,” Maitha said. She also mentioned that the CDA has more plans in the works to enhance services for people of determination, ensuring they have a fulfilling and enjoyable stay in Dubai.

Dubai’s new initiative aligns with its long-standing vision to be a city where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy the best experiences it has to offer.
