Sheikh Hamdan Meets Indian Cricketers, Receives Special ‘Dubai 11’ Jersey

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had an exciting and memorable meeting with some of India’s top cricketers and a prominent ICC official during his official visit to India. The meeting took place in Mumbai on Tuesday, where Sheikh Hamdan, dressed in a black suit, spent time with Indian cricket legends—captain Rohit Sharma, T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav (SKY), and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The group also welcomed Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The Crown Prince’s visit was part of his two-day official tour of India, marking yet another significant step in strengthening the relationship between the UAE and India. Sheikh Hamdan expressed his pride in the UAE’s role as an international sports hub, particularly in hosting the ICC headquarters in Dubai since 2005. He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to advancing global sport through strategic partnerships and top-tier infrastructure.

“I believe the UAE’s advanced infrastructure and vision for the future make it the perfect place for global sports excellence,” Sheikh Hamdan shared. He also congratulated Team India on their victory in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, where they triumphed in the final match held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The cricketers, in turn, praised the UAE’s exceptional facilities and sporting atmosphere, noting that the country’s facilities played a key role in their success.

A moment of special significance came when Sheikh Hamdan was presented with a Team India jersey, branded ‘Dubai 11’, signed by the players. He was seen holding the jersey with Rohit Sharma, taking photos with the players. Sheikh Hamdan later shared this memorable moment on his official Instagram account, where he wrote, “Team India Ke Saath Ek Yaadgaar Mulakath” (A memorable meeting with Team India) in Hindi. The post quickly went viral, with fans from both countries celebrating the gesture.

Sheikh Hamdan’s official visit to India continues to highlight the growing cooperation between the UAE and India in various sectors, including sports and reflects the UAE’s vision of becoming a global sports powerhouse.
