UAE Calls for Gaza Ceasefire and Talks with Israel FM

During a recent meeting in Abu Dhabi on April 6, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar discussed the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of halting hostilities, facilitating humanitarian aid, and securing the release of hostages. He reiterated the UAE’s strong commitment to the Palestinian cause, stressing the necessity of advancing peace talks based on a two-state solution.

The meeting also underscored the critical role of international cooperation in providing unhindered access to humanitarian aid to Gaza’s civilians, ensuring their safety during this crisis. Sheikh Abdullah called for intensified efforts to curb extremism and violence in the region, emphasizing tolerance and coexistence as essential for long-term peace and stability.

In addition, both leaders discussed the progress of bilateral relations between the UAE and Israel, highlighting the growing partnership and shared interests.
