The third term of the 2024–2025 academic year in UAE schools is set to begin on Monday, April 14, with clear guidelines for students, staff, and parents. Both public and private schools have rolled out strict regulations to ensure smooth operations for the remainder of the academic year.
One of the key changes includes the prohibition of mobile phones and unauthorized electronic devices within school premises. The official Student Behavior Policy clearly states that schools will confiscate and handle such items. Additionally, schools ban the use of iPads and require students to bring essential school supplies, including fully charged laptops (personal or ministry-issued).
Attendance Rules and Accountability
Attendance will be strictly monitored, with in-person attendance mandatory for all students. Schools have emphasized that unjustified absences will be recorded after every lesson. Missing three lessons will be counted as one full day of absence, which will negatively impact the student’s behavior record. Parents have been informed through emails and SMS about the new attendance policy.
Furthermore, parents visiting the school must adhere to a dress code, wearing formal attire and presenting a valid ID upon arrival. Parents will also need to register their details at reception before entering the school premises.
Uniform and Grooming Expectations
Students are expected to follow a strict dress code, wearing the official national school uniform at all times. The sports uniform is allowed only during physical education classes. Unauthorized attire, including hoodies, is strictly prohibited. Schools have stressed the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and appropriate grooming, with no room for unconventional hairstyles or improper haircuts.
School Day Timings and Transportation Guidelines
The school day will follow a set schedule, running from 7:00 AM to 2:10 PM, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, classes will conclude at 10:30 AM after the fourth lesson. Parents are urged to commit to a single mode of transportation for their children, whether the school bus or a private car, and to follow specific drop-off and pick-up times at designated locations.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, schools have assigned separate entry and exit gates for different areas of the campus. Additionally, schools have set up a designated Dhuhr prayer area during the second break for students who wish to observe the prayer.
Preparing for a Safe and Organized Term
Schools are ready to welcome back students, having put in place extensive preparations to maintain a disciplined and safe environment conducive to learning. These guidelines aim to help both students and staff focus on their academic goals while ensuring safety and order throughout the school premises.
