Don’t Miss It: Dubai Fountain’s Final Weekend Before Restoration Begins

This Saturday, April 19, marks your last chance to enjoy the Dubai Fountain show before it temporarily shuts down for major restoration work. Located in Downtown Dubai, the world’s largest performing fountain will undergo extensive upgrades aimed at enhancing its technology, choreography, and sound and lighting systems.

Emaar, the master developer, initially announced in February that the fountain would close for five months starting May 2025. However, a recent update in March confirmed that April 19 will be the final day for public viewing before the restoration begins.

When will the Dubai Fountain reopen?

The improvement works are scheduled to begin in May, with completion expected by October. Emaar shared that the upgrades will deliver a more immersive experience through advanced technology and refined performances.

About the Dubai Fountain:

Situated at Burj Lake, just outside Dubai Mall and in front of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain spans an area equal to two football fields. It uses over 22,000 gallons of water, shooting jets as high as 140 metres into the air during performances.

Shows take place every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm daily, with afternoon performances also available:

Saturday to Thursday: 1pm and 1:30pm

Fridays: 2pm and 2:30pm

For an up-close view, visitors can walk along the Dubai Fountain Boardwalk, a 272-metre floating platform that brings spectators just nine metres from the powerful water display.

Although the fountain will be closed, Downtown Dubai’s other major attractions will remain accessible to visitors and residents. Launched in 2009 by Emaar and designed by WET Design—the same team behind the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas—the Dubai Fountain has remained one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
