As a proud UAE national, 26-year-old Mariam blends the essence of Emirati culture with contemporary ambitions and perspectives. Her historic win comes as she will soon represent the UAE as the first Emirati woman in the global Miss Universe pageant next month in Thailand.
“The UAE has provided me confidence that I can dream big,” she said, “and the title of Miss Universe UAE isn’t just about beauty – It’s about impact, and It’s about inspiring others.”
Mariam is an Economics graduate from the University of Sydney and is presently enrolled in the Fashion Design program at ESMOD, Dubai. She balances her logical thought, creativity and compassionate heart for a wonderful mix. Mariam’s passion for community engagement through Ramadan Aman and The Giving Family Initiative is complemented by her work in sustainable fashion. Mariam’s passion and purpose is empowerment for empowerment’s sake and through social good. She has also represented the UAE at several global programs on women’s entrepreneurship, education and equality. 
Mariam has a strong affinity for her heritage through traditional Emirati practices, such as falconry and camel riding, while her designs and work also reflect modern ideas of innovation and sustainability. Her narrative illustrates the growing story of the UAE – a story where tradition and advancement move side by side.
Regarding competing in the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, Mariam wants to inspire young and future Emarati women to be their own authentic selves and fulfill their passions.
“I would like to positively promote the UAE’s story of empowerment, sustainability and innovation on a global scale,” Mariam stated vigorously.
Poppy Capella, the National Director of Miss Universe UAE, emphasized her excitement regarding Mariam selection stating, “She is a perfect representation of what the UAE stands for as a nation.”
Poppy mentioned it was Mariam’s poise, vision and ability to illustrate the UAE’s heritage, empowerment and outlook that set her apart as a finalist.“Mariam is the epitome of what we need to represent the UAE at Miss Universe, with her educational background, advocacy for women, and embracing of Emirati identity.”
Poppy added that this year’s response to the Miss Universe UAE was overwhelming, as they received over 950 applications throughout the Emirates.
“The journey in 2025 has been a clear and rigorous process,” Poppy stated.”Every finalist had amazing talent and introduced their heart. The UAE is a continued nation of women at the forefront as leaders, change-makers, and cultural emissaries – anchoring their heritage and bringing a new global legacy.”
