Diamond Gem AA Sparkles in UAE President’s Cup at Pimlico

Diamond Gem AA triumphed in the 32nd running of the UAE President’s Cup at Pimlico on May 33, 2020.

The 32nd renewal of the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses was a great success at the historic Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes. This memorable day belonged to Diamond Gem AA, who was the 1st to come in the race, attended by over 100,000 spectators and covered largely by the American media.

Diamond Gem AA’s Excellent Racing in the 32nd UAE President’s Cup

Burning Tramaasah-bred Diamond Gem AA by Tramaasah (by Sevilla Tryst) under Jerenesto Torrez with Carol Cedeno in the saddle impressed everyone as the horse swifted over the 1700m dirt track to cross the winning post first. The racehorse maintained the outstanding tradition by regaining the record he had set in 2023 with a time of 1:57.01. The Grade 1, $200,000 race attracted an international field.

Podium Finishers in the UAE President’s Cup

Rb Grand Slam, another consistent performer under the care of Jerenesto Torrez, was second best with Aa Take A Chance finishing third. All of these horses are superb on the track, providing great racing action for the fans. The race was heavily covered and shown to a large international audience and media which contributed to putting focus not only on the beauty of Arabian horses but also it reconfirmed the status of UAE President’s Cup as a global race in Arabian horse racing.

Notable dignitaries in attendance at the awards included Omar Al Yahyai of the UAE diplomatic corps and Saeed Al Muhairi, representing the UAE President’s Cup Series. Trophies were thenvpresented to the winning connections, emphasising the UAE President’s Cup as an international fixture on the Arabian horse racing discipline.
