This guaranteed job is part of an idea to link education with local employment opportunities. This is Thumbay Group’s attempt to build local talent pool who are well acquainted with the healthcare setting in the region and can deliver from day one. The initiative also supports the UAE’s ambitions for a more job-ready and future-proof workforce.

The state of the job market and Emiratisation in the UAE

This revelation provides some cause for optimism for GMU graduates, however job seekers across the Middle East still have a long row to hoe. According to a recent survey by recruiter Robert Walters, 84% of the people applying for jobs believe their CVs are being ignored, with mass applications and generic resumes blamed for the lack of response. Recruiters have difficulty vetting legitimate applications when even good candidates are applying to upwards of 20 roles a week.

Emiratisation careers are also on the rise, as we now have more than 131,000 Emirati workers in the job market, a 192.5 per cent increase. Eighty-three percent of Emiratis are confident in their private-sector skill sets and almost half are prepared to start working in less than a month, according to the TASC and MOHRE report. There should also be programs that target specific skills in AI and technology to continue shoring up employment readiness, experts say.
