The design includes Omega’s signature chronograph features, with a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3 o’clock and a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock that also serves as a date display. The date display is enhanced with a red anodized aluminum hand for improved legibility. The redesigned, polished, and brushed steel bracelet with a tool-free micro-adjust system ensures the watch fits comfortably on the wrist.
While this model isn’t Omega’s first meteorite-dial Speedmaster—previous versions like the Apollo-Soyuz edition have featured similar dials—the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite offers the most visually striking rendition yet. The addition of the moon phase complication, though not new to the Speedmaster collection, has been executed with meticulous attention to detail.
However, the price of $17,100 has sparked some debate. With previous Speedmaster Moonphase models priced significantly lower, collectors will need to consider whether the meteorite dial, upgraded movement, and refined case design justify the premium. Some enthusiasts may find the moon phase complication slightly heavy on the dial, but many will appreciate the artistic execution of the design.
