The UAE Council for Entrepreneurship held its second meeting of the year, chaired by Alia Bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.
participants were drawn from the council of state, local government councils, ministry of economic planning,departments of commerce, councils and funds in existence that are responsible for entrepreneurship in the country.
The meeting is a continuation of the initiatives to enhance the national-economic environment of the UAE and the development of their enablers, in accordance with the objectives of “We the UAE 2031”.
The council took into account the conclusions of its initial session and their follow-up. It also studied the Federal Law No. 2 of 2014 regarding SMEs; unified entrepreneurs database launch; and synergy between local bodies to boost convergence and facilitate support provided for UAE entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Al Mazrouei stated that the CEC, has been developing the road map as well as the future options, plan to support and to reinforce the role of the entrepreneurs at the national level through the effective interaction among the bodies involved in the matter, and in light of the facilitated programs and of the national’s initiatives which aiming to offer a competitive environment to practice business.
In doing so, this piece of work will contribute to increasing the spread of startup activities within the UK, improving entrepreneurs readiness for the future and catalysing new waves of startups and new opportunities for company building and investing.
This is inline with the national mission towards achieving the national vision of a knowledge based, entrepreneurship and innovation driven economy and the increase in the SMEs contribution towards the nation’s GDP.
Also discussed at the meeting was how to better grow entrepreneurs and help them build and grow locally and globally. It also comprised some methods for encouraging the involvement of those involved and establishing partnerships with the public and private sector.
Themeetingreviewed theyouthentrepreneurshipcouncilstrategy, which seeks to empoweryouthto run and lead creative projects, which help in reinforcing the country’s international leading stature, in the field. The members also discussed the role of entrepreneurs in international exhibitions while showcasing the proposed participation for 2025 and the necessary coordination to represent the UAE at the largest global entrepreneurship-related events.
It was also decided at the meeting to follow up on the preparations for the National Forum for Government Procurement to facilitate the access of Emirati entrepreneurs to government tenders, and seize the opportunity to get federal entities to explain the advertising tenders during the current year.
It gives SMEs the opportunity to develop and prepare tenders and to create a space for face-to-face communication with contracting authorities and to discuss relevant joint issues and questions. Furthermore, the Forum will talk about the news from the procurement environment and spread the current market news of financiers who facilitate the industry development.
It also examined the accomplishments with regard to the mechanism of the National Agenda for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, which aims at positioning the UAn as a global destination for entrepreneurship, the statement added.
