The 32nd edition of the UAE President’s Cup (USA Edition) will be held as the Group 1 race on the Preakness Stakes program, slated for 7:43 p.m. (Maryland time). The race will run over 1 1/16 miles (1700 meters), with a grand prize purse of $200,000, attracting top-tier competitors from around the world.

This event brings together the finest Purebred Arabians, aged four years and older, with a rich blend of history, legacy, and competitive spirit. The UAE President’s Cup has been an iconic fixture in Arabian horse racing, and this year’s edition showcases some of the most elite contenders.

Key Contenders in the Race for $200,000

Among the standout entries is Rosebrook Farms LLC, with two strong contenders: RB Motherload and RB Grand Slam. Trained by Jerenesto Torrez and bred by Dianne K. Waldron, these horses carry the weight of expectation and a legacy of success. Rosebrook’s victories in previous editions of the race make them a top contender again this year.

However, the competition will not be easy. Rhonda Tuley enters the race with a talented trio: AA Take A Chance, WMA Smoke Signal, and WMA Big Baby. AA Take A Chance, a wildcard co-bred by Garrett Ford and owned by Annette Lindstrom, has the potential to surprise the field. Meanwhile, WMA Smoke Signal and WMA Big Baby, both bred and owned by Rita Deleon, highlight the strength of in-house talent, with Deleon and Tuley ready to shake up the competition.

Another contender to watch is Like Moulin Rouge, bred and trained by Ken Danyluk. Despite being seen as an underdog, the horse’s grit and independence could provide a surprising edge in this prestigious race.

TM Purncess, another gem in Tuley’s barn, is also a promising contender. Bred by L. Todd Moak, she has been training steadily and could disrupt the frontrunners come race day.

Lastly, Quick Rae AA represents a personal touch, with Nicole and Andre Ruggeri handling training and ownership duties. Bred by Joseph and Betty Gillis, this horse brings a sense of passion and connection to the race, embodying the spirit of family-driven success.

The UAE President’s Cup: A Global Racing Tradition

Since its inception, the UAE President’s Cup (USA Edition) has evolved into a significant milestone in Arabian horse racing. The past winners—such as Paddys Day, Quick And Rich, and RB Texas Hold Em—have shown the incredible depth of talent within the Arabian racing community. New stars like Hiab Al Zaman and Diamond Gem AA continue to keep the competition fierce, with each race pushing the limits of excellence.

A Milestone for Arabian Horse Racing

Faisal Al Rahmani, Secretary General of the UAE President’s Cup Series Organising Committee, highlighted the importance of this race in the global arena: “The US race represents a key milestone in our annual calendar and reflects the ever-growing global reputation of the series. Being part of the 150th Preakness Stakes this year is a powerful testament to the stature of the UAE President’s Cup. This achievement would not be possible without the steadfast support of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed, whose visionary leadership continues to elevate Arabian horse racing and preserve its noble heritage across the world.”

The UAE President’s Cup at Pimlico Race Course continues to stand as a beacon of excellence, drawing attention to the Purebred Arabian horses and the growing international influence of the UAE in the world of horse racing.
