Digital Wallet, A Revolutionary Step in UAE, It’s another leap in digitalization of government services in the UAE where MoHRE has collaborated with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, ADIB. Developed to expediate and facilitate payments made by corporates in respect of MoHRE services, the wallet facilitates corporates to settle their fees / obligations in real time.
The launch of the wallet is part of the drive towards the complete transformation to fully-fledged digital banking services for businesses that was announced earlier this year in line with the UAE’s strategic vision to provide efficient, accurate and transparent services to businesses and government agencies in the UAE. Companies can apply for the “Digital Wallet” service through MoHRE’s portal in the “e-Wallet Registration for Companies’ approval. Companies are able to start managing payments using the wallet once approved by the bank.
Dr. Mohammed Saqr Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for support services at MoHRE, said, “This initiative represents the first slide of the Digital Wallet service, as efforts are still in process to develop the service so that other categories, including Emiratis, freelancers and workers, can take advantage of the Digital Wallet service. We will also collaborate with additional banks to enhance financial inclusivity, simplify business operations in the UAE, and support the country in becoming a global business think tank.
The Digital Wallet project is just one element of the UAE’s expansive effort to revamp public services, as represented by its zero Bureaucracy program. Thus far, this initiative has significantly reduced red tape, enabling businesses to complete their tasks faster and with fewer unnecessary trips. As a result of more efficient business practices, the digital wallet will help reduce operational costs, promote economic competitiveness and encourage a business-friendly climate.
Building on the UAE’s wider digital aspirations, MoHRE has remained innovative, incorporating artificial intelligence and state-of-the-art technologies into its services. The ministry achieved huge progress in digital, completing 34 million smart transactions during 2024, a 59% growth countrtywide in 2023. These endeavours have been rewarded with various efficiency and innovation in government service awards.
As part of its digital transformation, the ministry has now completed the second phase of its Zero Bureaucracy Program, with the time of filling up bureaucracy being cut by 80%, for example, from 30 working days to now just 5, with some services available immediately.The second phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Program has successfully reduced the transaction completion time from 30 working days to just 5, and several services are now available instantly.
