Embrace AI or Get Left Behind, Says Dubai Executive

In a world rapidly transforming through technology, AI is no longer a distant possibility but an immediate reality. Dr. Deepak Renganathan, Vice President of Digital Marketing at Damac Properties, issued a strong warning at the TRIBE—The CMO Connect 2025 event: it’s not AI that will take your job, but those who are quick to adopt it.

Dr. Renganathan highlighted that only about 5-10% of professionals are embracing AI, while the rest are left behind, either due to fear, skepticism, or lack of knowledge. “People don’t lose jobs to AI, but to people who embrace it,” he said, emphasizing that AI is creating new opportunities, industries, and jobs. However, those who fail to adapt to these changes will be at a disadvantage.

During the event, Dr. Renganathan also shared how AI is already playing a critical role across various industries. In HR, for example, AI can autonomously generate job descriptions, post listings, parse resumes, shortlist candidates, and even conduct interviews. These technologies are already being implemented to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Looking to the future, Dr. Renganathan discussed the potential of autonomous learning-based AI models, which could make decisions and track performance metrics for organizations. While these systems have immense potential, he cautioned that they must be implemented with clear guidelines to ensure that they are used responsibly.

The key takeaway from the event: those who learn and embrace AI will thrive in the changing workforce, while those who remain hesitant or skeptical may find themselves left behind.
